Brian and Maureen Huffer have been tenants at Greenslade Farm since 1965, but the family have grown potatoes and vegetables in the same village since early 1900. A Farm Shop was opened approximately fifteen years ago in a small way but has steadily grown over the years.
Potatoes are our main crop which we sell in the farm shop - some 700 tonnes
being grown on the farm annually. We grow Desiree, which is a maincrop,
red skinned variety and Estima, a white all round variety.
The potatoes not sold in the farm shop are washed and packed for various supermarkets. We also buy in other varieties of potatoes such as Maris Piper, Charlotte and Maris Peer as they come in season to complement our range.
